About the profession:
Warehouse logistics specialists accept goods of all kinds and check their quantity and condition based on the accompanying documents. They organise the unloading of goods, sort them and store them properly in the designated locations. In addition, they compile deliveries based on customer orders, pack the goods safely for transport and check their condition. They ensure that goods are loaded and dispatched on time and ensure efficient and resource-saving processes.
In addition to these activities, warehouse logistics specialists monitor the stock of stored goods and carry out regular inventories to ensure that stock levels are always up to date. In the event of discrepancies or damage, they initiate the necessary measures. They also work closely with other departments, such as production and purchasing, to ensure a smooth flow of materials.
Another important aspect of their work is the optimisation of warehouse processes. Warehouse logistics specialists analyse existing processes, identify potential for improvement and use modern warehouse systems to increase efficiency. The use of materials handling equipment and compliance with safety regulations in the warehouse are also part of their job.
Working in this profession therefore requires organisational talent, technical understanding and a high degree of responsibility
